Question 1

At what stage should growth promoter be used?

Accepted Answer

It is commonly used in the grower and finisher phases of broilers and pigs, when feed conversion has the largest impact on production cost. It can also support recovery after stress periods such as heat or transport.

Question 2

Does it replace a balanced diet?

Accepted Answer

No. A growth promoter supports performance, but the diet must still meet the animal’s energy, protein, vitamin and mineral requirements. It works best as part of a complete nutrition program.

Question 3

Is it safe for feed mills to handle?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It is a powder that mixes easily into feed. Standard hygiene practices for handling feed additives apply: store in a dry place and avoid inhalation of dust.
